Help Us Create a Bigger, Better Community Hub for Arnold!
Over the last year, Dice & Balls has become a hub of activity, community spirit, and fun. From board games and Dungeons & Dragons nights to knitting circles, social groups, and even talks by local historian Bob Massey, we’ve loved seeing people of all ages and backgrounds come together at our space. However, as many of you know, our current hub will be closing after Christmas. This has been a difficult decision, but it’s given us a chance to step back and think about the future.
Why Do We Need a New Hub?
Our current location, while special, has its limitations. We’ve often struggled with space—when a few families or groups come in, it can feel overcrowded, and that limits the number of events and activities we can run at once. We also haven’t been able to offer basic amenities like coffee and snacks due to our lease restrictions.
Since announcing the closure, we’ve been overwhelmed by the messages of support from our community. Some of the most inspiring feedback came in the form of a suggestion: why not take this opportunity to open a larger, more versatile Community Hub right here in Arnold? We agree! This would be a space where we can expand everything we currently do, and also offer new events and workshops to truly serve the entire community.
What Will the New Hub Offer?
- Host board games, D&D sessions, and other tabletop adventures with ample space for everyone.
- Create a welcoming environment for knitting circles, craft workshops, and social groups to meet regularly.
- Offer coffee, snacks, and refreshments to make your time with us even more enjoyable.
- Continue to host informative talks from people like local historian Bob Massey, bringing Arnold’s rich history and culture to life.
- Provide a flexible space for community-led events, where local groups can come together and run activities that benefit Arnold as a whole.
Why We Need Your Help
While this proposal is exciting, it’s going to take significant effort and resources to make it a reality. We’ve started a crowdfunding campaign to help cover the costs of securing and renovating the new space.
